Biography

Sound with a purpose.

Richy Okechukwu is a UK-based Nigerian gospel artist whose music blends gospel, worship, Afro-gospel and contemporary Christian sound. Born Tochukwu Richard Okechukwu, he began his music career in 2011 and has since released several albums and more than 45 singles, building a catalogue that moves between studio worship and live celebration.

Based in Great Barr, Birmingham, he serves as Music Director for Streams of Joy Birmingham and for the East Midlands Gospel Music Festival across 2025 and 2026, and took on the role of Creative Director for the Elroi Album with Streams of Joy Birmingham in 2025. His work carries him from the studio to the festival stage, directing sound as often as he leads it in song.
